About Us

Organically Speaking is a small, friendly, family run independent retailer established by Jess Hughes in 1999.

We started as a delivery business for organic fruit and vegetables, then in 2004 we opened our shop in Hartley Wintney and in 2012 stayed in Hartley Wintney but moved to a much bigger store at 63 High Street.

Our range is constantly expanding to meet customers needs. Our range is 90% organic. We offer a wide range of products from Fruit and Vegetables, Chilled and dairy products including a beautiful cheese counter specialising in British cheeses, Bread and cakes, Gluten and dairy free products, Store cupboard essentials, Health and beauty, Skincare, Vitamins and Supplements, Earthborn paints, the COOK range of frozen meals and lots more.

We work with a wide range of producers equally passionate about the products they produce. Our first floor is full of beautiful gifts and products for the home and garden. Our top floor is home to our various independent therapists helping in areas such as nutrition and counselling.

Meet the Team

We're a small bunch with a diverse skill set, but we share the common aim of providing delicious produce for you to enjoy while offering friendly product advice.

Jess

As the founder of Organically Speaking Jess is passionate about Organic Food and Farming, the link food has with our well being and helping make great tasting food available to as many people as possible, finding new products from many artisan producers and sourcing products that customers find hard to get elsewhere. Jess has another passion which is her animals and so to relax as well as loving to spend time with family she also loves to be with her four legged bundles of fluff, cooking, baking and finds her garden a great means of escapism.

Victoria

Victoria is a psychotherapist and counsellor providing both short-term and long-term therapy to adult individuals in person and online. Victoria can be seen in the quiet and relaxed environment in one of our therapy rooms, in the peaceful surroundings on the top floor of Organically Speaking. Clare

Clare is the creative one amongst us and so can often be found in her painting dungarees, in her studio drawing or generally making something lovely. In her spare time she loves to be with her family, walking with her beautiful dog, enjoying music and working in the garden.

Pauline

Pauline lives in the village and so knows many of our customers, Pauline does many jobs in the shop but mainly looks after our customers at the till and helps with deliveries and is a brilliant date checker! In her spare time she loves spending it with family and going to France for holidays.

Sally

Sally looks after our website but when not working enjoys being out with her lovely dogs, spending time with family and she is a whizz with her sewing machine making beautiful things for the home.

Sam

Sam joined our team in 2021 and loves helping the people of Hartley Wintney and beyond! She has a wealth of experience with over 2 decades in the natural health and beauty industry and is also a qualified nutritionist. Sam enjoys going to the Gym and enjoying the great outdoors whilst her 3 lovely boys means her family life is always busy.
