CHRISTMAS IN MAY....We've been a bit quiet on our socials over the last few weeks...sorry! May is our busiest month for Christmas planning, the majority of Christmas product information lands before Easter so then it is busy busy busy, lots of products to taste, decisions to make and paperwork to do. With over half the planning now done an invite from one of our suppliers came at the perfect time so off Jess and Sam went recently to one of our very local suppliers just half an hour away @summerdownuk the best peppermint people! We had a lovely tour of the farm, walks through the (very dry at the time) peppermint fields where the Black Mitcham peppermint grows that goes into all the Summerdown products. Growing, harvesting and distilling all happens on the farm so after a visit in the distillery and the packing area we were treated to a delicious cuppa (peppermint & chamomile - chamomile also grown on the farm) and a yummy slice of homemade Victoria Sponge, scones and clotted cream with fresh strawberries, well we had earnt it after all our walking - honest! So with the aroma of beautiful peppermint with us it was lovely to see how Summerdown is home to a happy Wildlife habitat thanks to strips of wild flowers that are sown and parts of fields that are given over to feed crops just for the birds, beehives are all over the farm and with the abundance of hedges and woodland it is easy to see why the Regenerative farm is a playground for birds and mammals alike. Summerdown are well known for their chocolates but next time you're in the shop don't forget to check the tea section (you can try a Summerdown tea take away or enjoy in the shop) and also the home and skincare sections for diffusers, candles soaps, body lotions and more.
